U-God Sues RZA Over Unpain Fees
By: Mark Spitz Published: Jan. 13, 2008 - New York, New York
This summer, RZA faced criticism from Ghostface and Raekwon regarding the Wu's new album, as well as RZAs business ethics. This week, Wu-Tang member U-God went after RZA's pocket book, as he filed a $170,000 lawsuit.
The lawsuit is the culmination of what U-God claims to be multiple problems with Wu-Tang Music Group, stretching over the past year. According to the 37 year old emcee, RZA failed to live up an agreement set forth in May 2007. At that time, U-God singed a contract with RZA which laid out payment plans for the Wu-Tang's recently released 8 Diagrams, their Rock The Bells show dates, as well as publishing. He claims that he has yet to receive any payments.
U-God has spoken out against RZA in the past, in effect echoing the criticisms of Raekwon and Ghostface, also alleging that the Wu-Tang's abbot has displayed favoritism, and caused disruption in the Clan's cohesiveness.
