News Alert: Pimp C Found Dead In Hotel Room

Rapper Pimp C from the legendary group UGK was found dead this morning in his Hollywood hotel room at the young age of 33. The unexpected news comes right after Pimp C hit the stage with Too $hort on Saturday night in Los Angeles.
Pimp C, born name Chad Butler, is survived by his family and his music partner, Bun B. They began their career professionally in 1992 with a recording contract aligned with Jive Records, and were still signed through their latest release, UGK: Underground Kingz.
Barry Weiss, President and CEO of Jive Records, issued a statement surrounding the untimely circumstances. "We mourn the unexpected loss of Chad. He was truly a thoughtful and kind-hearted person. He will be remembered for his talent and profound influence as a pioneer in bringing southern rap to the forefront," he stated. Weiss continued, citing, "He will be missed and our prayers remain with his family and Bun B. I've known Chad since he was 18, and we loved him dearly and he was a cherished member of the Jive family."
