Fans of the Wu-Tang Clan will unite today, November 13th, on behalf of the Wu's first fallen soldier, Ol' Dirty Bastard. The rapper died in 2004, three years ago today, as a result of congestive heart failure. He was 35 years old. Sadly, the unexpected death stemmed from complications to a drug overdose.

Russell "Ol' Dirty Bastard" Jones became an iconic figure as part of the Wu-Tang Clan, known for wild behavior and unmatched character, as well as humorous concepts and commentary. ODB's outlandish microphone technique, comprised of a half-rapped, half-sung style, intrigued fans worldwide and donned him as one of the most well-recognized and celebrated members of the Clan.

He was known best for his hits "Shimmy Shimmy Ya" and "Brooklyn Zoo" from his first solo album, Return to the 36 Chambers: The Dirty Version, amongst multiple Wu-Tang family releases.

Fan groups hope to make November 13th an official "ODB Day" and urge individuals to call their local radio stations and demand a tribute in some form and fashion.
