NYC Radio Personality Star Fired For Sexual, Racial Tirade Toward Child
By: SoundSlam Published: May. 11, 2006 - New York, NY
The hugely popular "Star & Bucwild Show" is a nationally-syndicated program aired through Power 105.1 FM in New York City. The show, however, is under strong scrutiny after Star, born name Troi Torain, verbally lashed out toward another station's radio personality's family.
Star divulged sexual and racial epithets on the air about the four-year old daughter and wife of Hot 97's DJ Envy. Since the shockingly abusive tirade, Clear Channel Radio executive Rob Williams issued a statement that Star had been officially terminated. Williams stated publicly, "Power 105 finds recent remarks broadcast by Troi Torain of the Star and Bucwild Morning Show to be wholly unacceptable. He is no longer with Power 105.1 or Clear Channel Radio." In an effort to mend any hard feelings from listeners, Williams cited, "We sincerely apologize to those who may have been offended by his remarks."
In an effort to get under the skin of DJ Envy, Star went far beyond ethical limitations by stating, "Somebody holla at me and tell me about his whore wife and his kid. 866-678-8270. Somebody get at me about his whore. His whore wife and his kid, this little ugly ass kid, I hear. Where does this kid go to school? I got five hundred bucks for that information." Not stopping there, Star and Bucwild bounced comments back and forth while Star issued deplorable statements, such as identifying DJ Envy's half-Asian wife as "slant-eyed" and a "lo-mein eater", amongst other things.
Star continued to digress about Envy's child, saying, "Yes, I disrespected your seed. If you didn't hear me, I said, I would like to do an R. Kelly on your seed, on your little baby girl. I would like to tinkle on her." Even more, the now-removed radio jock stated, "I'm coming for your seed. Did you hear me? I want to do an R. Kelly in the mouth of your seed, fam... I want to put some mayonnaise in between your baby girl's ass crack and take a bite."
Torain may face backlashes from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and the Manhattan district attorney's office. SoundSlam will continue to provide updates on this socially-charged situation.
