Eminem To Retire?
By: SoundSlam Published: Jul. 15, 2005 - Detroit, MI
Reports have surfaced that Eminem is throwing in his hat after his latest album “Encore.” The Detroit Free Press has been leaked information from insider’s close to Marshall Mathers that the rapper would like to escape the spotlight and focus more on other ventures, including production. To make the rumors more concrete, Eminem’s manager, Paul Rosenberg, told the newspaper that his most recent record, “Encore,” was “certainly the cap on this part of his career.” However, the decision to make it public was apparently held off following the newsworthy retirement of another legend, Jay Z.
Rosenberg stated that he was quite surprised that these allegations were not raised sooner, due to the numerous verbal clues found throughout his latest album. Those individuals closest to the rapper claim that they were well aware that “Encore” would be his last of that type of endeavor. D-12 member, Proof, made a statement that “Em has definitely gotten to the level where he feels like he's accomplished everything he can accomplish in rap" and that Eminem deserves time to relax.
In addition to the weariness of fame, Rosenberg stated that “He didn't want to seem like one of those guys who's playing a trick on his fans, or playing with their heads." His manager concluded by announcing that "It's part of the same struggle he goes through in his music -- 'How much of my inner thinking should I be putting out there?'” The truth remains to be seen and will be told in time; however, Eminem is currently abstaining from interviews so his personal confirmation to the public will be delayed.
