Webbie Set To Have Big Summer

Baton Rouge rapper Webbie is set to have a big summer with his debut album release, soundtrack appearance, and new chart success.
Webbie’s 18-track debut album, entitled “Savage Life,” will hit stores Tuesday July 5th. The album contains the hit single featuring Bun B, “Give Me That.’ The record will be released through Asylum/Trill Entertainment.
The album drops at the perfect time, as Webbie’s hit single “Give Me That” has grown in popularity across the country. The single and accompanying video have reached the top ten on various radio and video charts. The video is also among the most downloaded on MTV.com, MTV2.com, and MTVU. Fans can get a preview of “Savage Life” by checking out MTV Jams The Leak. Webbie has also capitalized on his success by playing numerous shows. He was a featured performer at the BET Awards and will be at the famous New Orleans House of Blues on July 7th.
Along with his own album, Webbie is also featured on the “Hustle and Flow” original movie soundtrack. A remix of “Bad Chick” featuring Trina will appear on the soundtrack. The soundtrack is scheduled to be in stores on July 12th. The album also features music from Juvenile, T.I., Lil Jon, Mike Jones, Paul Wall, Boyz N’ Da Hood, Lil Scrappy, and Trina.
Webbie was signed at the age of 15 to the Trill Entertainment label, which is run by Pimp C of UGK. Webbie’s name gained notoriety in the street through Trill releases “Ghetto Stories,” and “Gangsta Muzik.” In 2004 Trill Entertainment became a part of Warner Bros. through a deal with Asylum records.
“Savage Life” features collaborations with Trina, Bun B, B.G., Mannie Fresh, and Big Head.
